Collision covers when your car gets stolen or when disaster happens (fire, earthquake...). There are many different plans and it is important to make sure not only the insurance premium but also the coverage and deductible.

When you hit somebody, the insurance covers the party.

When you hit something and brake or damage it, the insurance covers the loss.
- Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury
When somebody hit you and (s)he does not have insurance, the insurance covers you.
- Uninsured Motorist Property Damage
When somebody hit you and breaks or damages your property, the insurance covers your loss.
- Medical Payments
Insurance covers your treatment at the hospital.
- Collision
Insurance covers your car.

Liability
Liability is a part of the Comprehensive. In California, by state law, all automotive drivers must have at least bodily injury liability and property damage liability. Uninsured insurance is the additional option.
